Let me answer your technical questions first. The hymen is a thin membrane that is stretched across the upper part of the vagina. It can be broken or torn with vigorous exercise or activity. Although in ancient times a broken hymen was thought to be an indicator of loss of virginity, it is no longer a measure of virginity because we know now that it can and is often broken in other activities (like vollyball). Virginity is the term we use for the state of one who has not had sexual intercourse. The bleeding that is associated with first time sex is most likely due to the tearing of the hymen. Not everyone whose hymen is intact at the time of first intercourse bleeds. Stretching and lubrication influence this. However, rough thrusting or lack of adequate lubrication can also cause minor tears in the vaginal wall and bleeding could result from that even when the hymen is already broken. So yes you are still a virgin. Until the penis has entered the vaginayou are still a virgin.

Think on these things...
Hmmm...sure you're virgin, just without proof.
That would be like someone who claims to own a Ferrari, but always drives a Ford Escort. Or someone who is a really good surgeon, they just don't have a medical license. Or having a boyfriend who really loves you but just doesn't want to get married.
Masturbating isn't sex. But since its intent is to bring about a sexual climax, wouldn't it be a sexual act...with sexual consquences?

oka well im new on here and i have been readen everyones comments...and well i am still a virgin the only thing i have done was kissed a guy and not even a french guy but im 14 and i want to loose my virginity..but im scard to death and i used tampons but only 3 times and even then i had no choice i was scard tp put then up my vagina and i bleeded alot well thats becuz i was on my period..but what i want to know is that when im on my period and im bleeden heavy but im very active and i insert a tampon how can u tell if i poped the cherry?
